Ostensione occasion of the Sacra Sindone in Torino, was held at La Venaria Reale an exhibition focused on the interest that the person of Jesus aroused in art. Consisting of paintings and sculpture from early Christian to the Baroque, the show parallels religious event, highlighting the wide cultural perspective where it belongs.
The exhibition, work of architect Massimo Venegoni, is structured in a way designed to rediscover the centrality of the body in European thought and to question the link between the human and divine identity implicit in the cult of the Shroud. Altogether more than 180 works, with masterpieces, among others, by Andrea Mantegna, Luca della Robbia, Giovanni Bellini, Antonio Pollaiuolo and Correggio, Giorgione, Veronese, Tintoretto, Annibale and Ludovico Carracci, Guercino, Donatello, Michelangelo and Rubens with its beautiful wooden crucifix.
