PAOLO LUCCHETTA

Paolo Lucchetta (Bologna 1959) graduated in Architecture in Venice with Aldo Rossi. After having travelled a lot for studing and working, he begun his activity of retail designer at the RINASCENTE’s Group. After this he projected the stores COIN in Rome (Peroni’s Fabbric) and in Bologna (Ancient Roman Teatre), the new formats KOAN and COIN CASA and the store in Brescia. He carries out researching activities, cooperating with several Italian and foreign Universities.

In 1999 he founded RetailDesign srl linked to Vega/Scientific and technological Parc of Venice. RetailDesign srl (www.retaildesigweb.it) is a researching and planning laboratory, that distinguish itself in the national panorama as one of the most advanced centers of activity and thought, with clients in Europe, Usa and North Africa. His purpose is to suggest new product concepts on an international level, based on communication and distribution, to face the future markets. The laboratory performs a research activity, integrated with innovative methodologies, which leads to the definition of new concepts, mixing together experiences and expertise, accrued in several sectors, and is able to suggest clients a projectual vision, based on an innovative path, and can provide strategic consulting services, combining an high plusvalue of “thought” with a wide range of operative applications.

Among the realised projects there are the points of sales of CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION (Rome and Moscow), the concept stores of CARACTERE (Verona and Palermo), of ELENA MIRO’ (Berlin, Palermo and Bari), of CHICCO (Milan), and of COOP Italia (Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome and Bologna). RetailDesign has also invented the layout for the FIFA SHOPS GERMANY 2006, of LIBRERIE.COOP and the new concept stores PUMA RED LABEL (New York, Santa Monica and London). The RetailDesign’s projects have been published by Electa in a monography entitled “Paolo Lucchetta+RetailDesign: works 1999-2006”, with essayes by Francesco Morace, Luigi Rubinelli and Decio Carugati.
